50 cent is a great rapper, but some people don’t know his real story. His real name is Curtis Jackson, 50 was born in Queens, New York. 50 cent was born on July 6th, 1975. He grew on a broke home with his hustler mother and dad. His mother was murdered only when he was 8 and soon after that his dad left him. He was left in hands of his grandmother who took care of him. As a teenager he followed his mother’s steps and became a hustler selling crack on the streets. He soon started encountering with undercover police men, and was sent to jail for 2 years. After that he started singing hip- hop and met Jam Master Jay, who gave him a beat CD and told him to rap over it. 50 cent did as he was told and when he gave back the CD Jam Master Jay was impressed. 50 cent signed a contract, but it wasn’t so good. Later on he was affiliated with Track- Masters, which resulted really good because Jay-z and Naz were also affiliated. After that Track- Masters affiliated him to Columbia were he did 2 albums. The albums were called Thugs love and How to Rob. After the How to Rob album was released 50 cent was stabbed, but it wasn’t anything grave. Then on May 24th 2000 before Columbia released his new album the Power of the dollar he was shot 9 times! 1 shot went threw his cheek the other one in his hand and the rest were on his legs and thighs. He barely survived and after Columbia heard the news they didn’t want to be affiliated with 50 cent anymore. 2 years later 50 cent continued with rapping with Jay-z Lloyd banks. After a while Eminem a really recognized rapper said in a radio station that he admired 50 cent. So Eminem and Dr. Dre affiliated 50 cent and carefully worked on his new album Get Rich or Die Tryin’. After this famous album he made a movie named as the album which also became really famous. 50 cent has moved on with his rapping career and is now one of the best rappers in the world. 50 cent is a great example for people who plan on succeeding. He had really hard times but he kept on going and put a lot of effort into his rapping and this is him today!
