July 26th, 2008 by davidsesin
Wow, all these visitors surprised me. When I first started blogging I had only about 20 visits. Now I’ve seen I have about 20 a day! At the beginning of my blog I looked forward to writing posts. It was a real fun class assignment, but now that I am in summer and I finished 8th grade I stopped blogging. But today, I just felt I needed to check on my blog. I was really surprised because I saw about 2600 views! I got kind of excited, because as I said before my blog but barely noticed. I thought I had that many views because I started a long time ago, approximately in April 2008. To be sure I was getting so many views not because of the long time it had been sitting there, but because it was interesting I checked on my classmate’s blogs and they didn’t have so many views. Well after that I got more excited than before.
I don’t really know how I got that many views, I mean is my site that interesting? Well I’m going to let you guys figure that out. I’d really appreciate it if the people who see my blog would leave comments telling me why they are in my site right know. You can also tell me what you like about my blog; give me tips on how to make it a better blog, and things you’d suggest for me to write. Thank you all my viewers for taking a look at my blog, you guys have inspired me to keep on going. If you respond to one of my posts I will happily leave a message on your blog. So yes, please leave a comment, so I get to see your blog, if you don’t have an edublog just go to www.edublogs.org and sign up it is really easy. With time you will see it gets really easy to blog. Well if an 8th grader can do it I bet you can do it too.

School is almost over!
June 5th, 2008 by davidsesin
The best time of the year has finally arrived. These last days of school are great, we get to fool around in class. The yearbooks are out and they are waiting to get signed. Also there is nearly any homework to do. And tomorrow we have the “Parque de Diversiones trip!” In spanish class we get to watch movies, during math fool around, in history we will soon do nothing, in English and literature we will read or just fool around I guess. These last days of school are also great because we almost have our summer vacations, and we are all really excited.
This summer I will try to do many things. First of all I will go to sleep really late and then wake up at any time. Also I’m not going to eat cafeteria food! I’m going to go out with friends, invite people to my house and many more. I will go to the theaters to see all the movies that are out, and hang around in the mall. Also in some point of summer their will be days I do absolutely nothing! Also I will play sports nearly every day. What I’m kind of nervous is for High School. I’m nervous because everything is different, and the decisions you take in High School, can affect you the rest of your life. So that’s why I am kind of nervous of going to High School. But for now I’m not worrying for that. I’m just going to try to enjoy my last days in middle school and after that enjoy 2 months of summer vacations. So this summer I’m going to try to enjoy it all I can. I think that you have to enjoy your summers a lot because after 12 grade you won’t have 2 months of vacations. So for all the students that are reading this blog enjoy your summer all you can because you wont get many summers in your life. Summer is something special it is like a gift, so you better enjoy it.

The Simpsons
May 29th, 2008 by davidsesin
Since I was small these yellow, funny, and big eyed people got my attention. They seemed really funny, so one day I started watching them. At the beginning they were really funny, but there were some jokes I never understood. One day as usual I was watching in it when suddenly my mom passed by. She shrieked as she saw me watching it. ” David that is not for kids!” So she quickly changed the channel. I was really scared at the reaction she had when she saw me watching it, because for me it had already become normal and usual to watch it. Some time later I asked her why she took it off, and she told me that, the show was only for teenagers and adults. Then when I turned nine she said she would let me watch the program of the yellow people again.
I was not interested any more on it any more, but one day I was switching the channels and they were showing the “yellow people”, I watched it and I understood the jokes better. Soon I started watching it a lot because it was more funny than before, and with time I stopped calling them the “yellow people” and started calling them The Simpsons. When I turned 12 or 13, I don’t remembered, I watched them less because they were not as funny as before, and they showed repeated episodes so I stopped watching them. For some time I watched other shows and other stuff in the television. Suddenly The Simpsons Movie came out to the theaters. I was really anxious to watch it because I remembered I liked the show a lot. So I watched it, and it was funnier than all of the episodes I had ever watched. Soon after that movie I started watching the show again. A new season had began so their were new episodes and they were funnier than the old episodes. So now a days I see The Simpsons when I have time, but I haven’t seen them recently these days or months.

Geography Fair
May 22nd, 2008 by davidsesin
Yes! Today is a great day, I’ve been waiting for this moment all day. Now I am really close to it. I’m going to an awesome event. There are many reasons it is awesome. First of all and most importantly, because there is free food from many different countries. Second of all you get to tease and challenge 7th graders by asking them hard questions, and take their food after that. I remember when I was in 7th grade I had the Geography fair too. And I also got the country I less expected. I didn’t even know it existed! Well it was pretty nice to get the country Moldova because I learned many new things. The hard thing was to get the information. I mean this country is so unknown that my spell checker, checks the word as if it was wrong! But there was many good things out of that. Sometimes when I was writing my report I couldn’t find information. The good thing about not finding information, was that when I told my teacher about it she said it didn’t matter and I didn’t have to put that information. The most challenging things were writing the report and then giving the oral report. What I didn’t like about this geography fair was that you had to work really hard on the report and when it came to the day of the fair you had to organize your booth and come dressed up, but then when people pass by they barely notice your report. I got kind of disappointed when people just came to your booth and they didn’t even notice the report. Something that I felt was really funny was that all the people ask the same questions. ” Did you like your country?”, ” What was the most interesting thing about it?”, ” What was the most challenging thing?”. And if people didn’t ask those questions they would just come into your booth get a flag and food and leave. Which I thought was kind of awkward. The next day you have to wake up and you are really tired. The good thing about the second day was that we had a grape fight when the teacher was not watching. Also the good thing about the second day was that we leaved early and I went to a friend’s house. The geography fair is a really cool fair, which I learned a lot from it. I think it was a really good idea to have this fair, because it teaches you how to work independently, and also you learn a lot of research skills.

50 cent
May 15th, 2008 by davidsesin
50 cent is a great rapper, but some people don’t know his real story. His real name is Curtis Jackson, 50 was born in Queens, New York. 50 cent was born on July 6th, 1975. He grew on a broke home with his hustler mother and dad. His mother was murdered only when he was 8 and soon after that his dad left him. He was left in hands of his grandmother who took care of him. As a teenager he followed his mother’s steps and became a hustler selling crack on the streets. He soon started encountering with undercover police men, and was sent to jail for 2 years. After that he started singing hip- hop and met Jam Master Jay, who gave him a beat CD and told him to rap over it. 50 cent did as he was told and when he gave back the CD Jam Master Jay was impressed. 50 cent signed a contract, but it wasn’t so good. Later on he was affiliated with Track- Masters, which resulted really good because Jay-z and Naz were also affiliated. After that Track- Masters affiliated him to Columbia were he did 2 albums. The albums were called Thugs love and How to Rob. After the How to Rob album was released 50 cent was stabbed, but it wasn’t anything grave. Then on May 24th 2000 before Columbia released his new album the Power of the dollar he was shot 9 times! 1 shot went threw his cheek the other one in his hand and the rest were on his legs and thighs. He barely survived and after Columbia heard the news they didn’t want to be affiliated with 50 cent anymore. 2 years later 50 cent continued with rapping with Jay-z Lloyd banks. After a while Eminem a really recognized rapper said in a radio station that he admired 50 cent. So Eminem and Dr. Dre affiliated 50 cent and carefully worked on his new album Get Rich or Die Tryin’. After this famous album he made a movie named as the album which also became really famous. 50 cent has moved on with his rapping career and is now one of the best rappers in the world. 50 cent is a great example for people who plan on succeeding. He had really hard times but he kept on going and put a lot of effort into his rapping and this is him today!

Manuel Antonio
May 11th, 2008 by davidsesin
On Wednesday the 8th grade trip took place. These field trips are not common trips, because they only happen once a year. They are normally about 3 days long. Commonly these trips are educational and we have to write on a journal the things we learned, but this time it was different. Since this year we graduate and we move on to high school, it was a fun trip. We didn’t have to write on a journal or learn anything it was all fun. We had to be at school at 6:30 am, I woke up at 6:20, I was really scared I was not going to get their on time, so I took a fast bath and then they took me to school. I live a bit far from my school, but surprisingly there was no traffic at all, so I got there at 6:30. Most of the people had not arrived to school yet so I was really relieved I did not come late. One by one the people came, and after a while we were all there. The bus ride was really calm, everything was peaceful, and their was no trouble at all, until we were half way their…. There was a weird sound that came from the motor of the bus, the bus driver ignored it and soon it was making noise again. The bus driver got out of the bus to see what was the problem and this fire belt, or something similar was damaged. He said that we couldn’t continue because that part of the engine was really important. Suddenly another bus popped out of nowhere and offered us he could take us to the place we had to go. We went to this canopy called ”Superman”. They put this suite that holds your legs and body, because you go on this line as if you were superman. It was kind of scary at the beginning when the canopy guides were about to launch you off. It felt unstable, but then it was not scary at all and was really good. After that we went to a pretty nice hotel, and in there they gave us our roommates. My roommates were really cool and we spend a good time. The next day we went rafting! Rafting was my favorite part of the trip because it was really fun and fast. The guide gave us the instructions of what to do in case you fall, before we went rafting. After that we were all set, and we went rafting. It was really funny to see the people falling in the rapids. I never fell in a rapid; I just threw my self out of the boat. Something really funny happened during the rafting. My friend fell off the boat in a rapid, he was “drowning”. He was not really drowning but he looked like it so I supposed I should help him. I did something the guide warned not to do, jump off the boat to save somebody. Any ways, to make the long story short, I went to “save” him but instead of saving him I saved his rowing utensil. After that I got back on the boat and helped him up. After the fun rafting experience, we went to the beach. It was a really nice beach because it had big waves and it was nice and hot. In there we played Football, and it was really fun. The only bad thing about it is that many people had injuries because we were playing tackle Football. The next day was the last day of our trip. I was really sad because it passed really fast and it was nearly time to go. What we did was go to Manuel Antonio National Park, and do community service. What we did was only rake leaves off a path. After the leaf raking we went back to the beach. We played more Football and also went “body surfing” on the beach. After the beach we ate in a really good restaurant and then we left to the hotel. There we took a bus back to school. Overall this was the best school trip I’ve gone, and it would be really fun to do these activities again.

My Lucky Day
April 24th, 2008 by davidsesin
Have you ever found a bill on the floor, or get a good grade on a test you thought you failed? That is called luck. Some people may think that luck doesn’t exist, they think it is just a matter of coincidence. Well I put it this way, you may encounter with “lucky coincidences.” There can also be bad luck which is the opposite of luck. I don’t believe in bad luck, it can just be that you are having a pretty bad day. Along time ago, I had the luckiest day in my life. Many Fridays ago, I had to go to this guy’s house. I don’t really like him because he is a video game freak, and when I go to his house the only thing he want to do is play video games. Since my parents are friends with his parents I have to go to his house. Ok, before I continue with this story I will go earlier that day. In the morning when I woke up I realized it was already 6:50, and my bus comes to my house exactly at 7:00. I got out of my bed and rushed to the bathroom as fast as I could, to take a bath. Since I was really tired, half sleep, and the water was hot and steamy, I wasted 10 minutes taking a bath. I was sure that the bus already passed, but it hadn’t passed by. Quickly I rushed down stairs, and luckily there was pancakes my favorite break fast. The clock was running and the bus hadn’t passed by yet. I knew that it would pass in any minute so I crammed all the food into my mouth, and ran back to the bathroom. In the bathroom I quickly brushed my teeth, and after that sprinted to my room to get my back pack, and ran downstairs to see if the bus was their yet. Luckily it still hadn’t passed by, so I sat and waited. As I waited, I was wondering if it already passed and I was thinking it hadn’t passed yet. Well, to make this long story short, they called from the school saying that the street that leads to my house was closed. Since that street is pretty far from my house, I tried to convince my mom to let us stay home, but unfortunately she denied my proposal. She found another way to go to school. I was a bit disappointed that I had to go to school. When we got to school a flash came into my mind. I had forgotten I had a test today! I got really worried and started panicking. I knew there was no choice I had to take the test. I got to class and they gave me the test right away. I started sweating and getting more and more worried. When I saw the test I didn’t know half of the answers, but fortunately it was multiple choice so I still had a chance. I filled in the ones I was confident I knew the answers and left the rest until the end. I guessed the other half, and I was really sure I would fail. During the day I went to have lunch, but when I checked my pocket it wasn’t there. I didn’t have any money to eat and the rest of the day was mad and grumpy. My mom picked my up at school,( this is the part when we go back to the story was telling you.) I told my mom everything that happened in my day. In this point of the story I guess you are asking yourself “How is this a lucky day?” You will see how my day turned around and resulted to be one of the best days of my life. My mom took me to eat at MacDonalds I was in the parking lot wondering around when I suddenly see 4 10,000 Colones bills lying on the floor!( 4 ten thousand colones bills are the same as 80$) There was nobody near the money so I decided I should take it, so I took them. My mom was surprised and went inside the restaurant and asked the people if it was theirs. Since everybody said it was their money my mom gave it back to me. We where going to the video game freak’s house when she suddenly received a call saying that the guy was really sick and I couldn’t go to his house. I leaped from happiness and I was really happy. When we got back home my cousin called saying if he could come to my house. Since he is really fun he came to my house and we had fun playing sports and other games. Finally the weekend ended and on monday they were about to give me my test. My teacher looked at me with a mean and taunting look as she gave me the test. In my head I thought ” I failed this test” I was really disappointed as I turned my test upside down to see my grade. I slowly turned it around and then I saw a 91! I was really surprised with my grade and screamed “yes!”Well, this was the luckiest day of my life and things like these don’t happen often. So do not risk your grade by not studying and guessing all the answers. I am happy I had a day like this and I hope a I get another day like this again.

Red Hot Chili Peppers
April 17th, 2008 by davidsesin

The Red Hot Chili Peppers is one of my favorite musical groups, what I like about them is that there music relaxes me. The Red Hot Chili Peppers formed in Los Angeles, California in 1983. The guys are called: vocalist Anthony Kiedes, guitarist John Frusciante, bassist Michael “flea” Balzary, and drummer Chad Smith. The genre of their music is many genres combined like rock, funk, punk rock, heavy metal, and psychedelic rock. I think that all these genres combined are really good, except for heavy metal which I dislike. Most of their songs are combined so the heavy metal is barley heard. The album I like the most is Stadium Arcadium, I like it because it brings the songs I like the most. The songs I like the most are: Danicalifornia, Snow(hey oh), Tell me baby, Specially in Michigan, and Hump the bump. What I hate is that it didn’t bring the songs Californication and Superman. The album Stadium Arcadium was released on 2006 and won a Grammy award. This means that this album is really good, it brings 2 discs because of the 28 tracks. Also what I like about there music is that their music is fast and rock, but at the same time it relaxes me. I usually hear it when I am doing homework, or just only when I want to relax. So thats why I like their music, and I really recommend you to hear it at least once.

Dodgeball: Grab Life by the Ball
April 10th, 2008 by davidsesin
Dodge Ball is a really interesting and fun sport, you always have to be active and fast. This game has 5 players in each team, to win the game you have to eliminate all the players in the other team. To eliminate them, you have to toss a ball at the opponent. Another way to eliminate a player is by catching a ball they throw at you. The only way to get the eliminated players to play again, is by catching the ball. As I said before if you catch the ball, the player that threw it is out, but also a member from your team goes back on into the game.About 3 years ago, this movie was on the theaters. I was really excited because I liked to play this game a lot. The movie Dodge Ball, was a really good movie; it had comedy and suspense. What I found really funny was Ben Stiller, usually he is the good guy in the movies, but in this movie he was the bad guy. Also his long blond hair made me laugh, because he normally has it short and black. I think that in this movie Vince Vaughn should be the bad guy, because he has a more mean and serious look. Well, the movie was also great just how it was made. It starts, with this guy called Peter Le’ Flor, he is a really irresponsible guy that owns a little gym called Average Joe’s. He is a good guy that has many friends in the gymnasium. In his gym he had not payed taxes for about 13 years, later on they warned him that he owed 50 thousand dollars. If he didn’t pay they would force him out of the place. His friends start thinking of a way to pay the fines, they tried in some fund raisers, but they were use less. A friend had the idea of playing in a Dodge Ball tournament all the way in Las Vegas, and the grand price was 50,000 dollars. They trained Dodge Ball for some time, but they were still really bad. To get in the tournament they had to beat these girl scouts who wanted to get in the tournament too. The girls won, but the judges found that one of the girls was using hormones, so they eliminated the girl scouts. Average’s Joe team went to Las Vegas, but they saw the owner of Globo Gym. The owner of Globo Gym, who was called White was participating with really good players. He was participating so Average’s Joe gym couldn’t get the money to win the tournament. During the tournament Average Joe’s gym and Globo Gym win all the games, and they both go to the final. The night before the game, White bribes Peter by paying him 100,000 dollars. The deal was to give away his gym.The day of the big game, Peter’s friends were ready to play, but they didn’t have enough players. Right before the referee called Globo Gym the as the winner, Peter came to the game. They have a really hard game, but at last Average Joe’s gym wins by sudden death. White tells everybody about the deal they had last night, but right after that some guys of a casino come and deliver 5 million dollars. The night before that Peter bet the 100,000 dollars on his team. So at the end he buys White’s Gym and he resolves all the billing problems he had before. I think this movie was great, really funny, and entertaining.

Freedom!
April 3rd, 2008 by davidsesin
What does freedom mean to you? How does this relate to you as a blogger? For me freedom means many things. First, it can be freedom of speech, which means that you have the right to say what you think. In addition, freedom of speech means hat you have to express your ideas by writing them or saying them. Freedom can also mean that you are free as a person, this means that nobody owns you, or you do not have to do what somebody tells you to. Unless they are paying you to work, or you are in school. Freedom doesn’t apply just to you as a person. Freedom also applies to whole nations, the United States was based on freedom. In the Declaration of Independence, Thomas Jefferson wrote that they wanted to be a separate country and be free. What he meant by this was, no more unfair taxes, quartering soldiers, and all the other unfair acts made by King George and the British soldiers. So pretty much, this is what freedom means to me and to some other people too.I think that freedom relates to me as a blogger because when you write, you can express your feelings and your thoughts. I think that the administrators of edublogs must respect people thoughts, as long as the writer doesn’t put any threat or uses fowl language. I think that this also relates to me as a blogger, because these blogs are designed for people to express there feelings and write what they think. Freedom also relates to edublogs, because this is like a public diary. People express their feelings and write for other people to read and comment on them.Freedom is a right that must be respected, by people from all over the world. This was a really interesting topic to write about, and it make me think deeply on the word freedom.
